Abstract: |
The evaluation revealed evidence for the presence of archaeological activity on the site. Four trenches were excavated uncovering a total of 121m2. The plot fronted on to Ermine Street (now Stukeley Road) and the remains of Medieval post-built buildings were found along the street frontage. To the rear of these structures a series of pits and a possible well were uncovered that appeared to represent domestic backyard activity. A large undated boundary ditch was uncovered to the west of the plot. |
