Abstract: |
A trial trench evaluation was undertaken at The Kingsfield Centre, Stowmarket in advance of a new building and car park. No features or deposits of archaeological significance were recorded during the evaluation. Truncation of the normal soil profile had occurred during the construction of the Kingsfield centre and much of the area was subsequently built up for the modern grassy areas and playground. A small assemblage of medieval pot and late medieval/post-medieval brick and tile was recovered from a remnant of a plough-soil deposit. |
