Abstract: |
An Archaeological Watching Brief was undertaken at 60 The Boyle, Barwick in Elmet, West Yorkshire. This work was required to meet a condition placed on planning consent. The archaeological watching brief consisted of monitoring the excavation of a small foundation trench for the construction of a front extension to the front of 60 The Boyle, Barwick in Elmet, West Yorkshire. The results of the watching brief were largely negative, the excavations did reveal an archaeological deposit but this proved to be a mixed colluvial context which had incorporated artefacts that may date from as early as the Late Prehistoric/Romano-British period and pottery from the Late Medieval period. |
