Abstract: |
Cottage-style isolation established in 1914 to treat leprosy by a group of Franciscan monks and nuns.Comprised 4 bungalows containing bed-sitting rooms (built 1914, 1923, 1947, etc, as funds arose) around a central lawn. Taken over in 1984 and now used by adults with learning difficulties. Exteriors are largely unaltered and many built-in features remain inside. Demolished after survey to create more modern facilities based on the original designs. |
