Abstract:		 In order to determine the archaeological risk posed by a proposal to construct new housing on land to the rear of 4 Carpond Lane, Wilbuton, Cambridgeshire, the Heritage Network was commissioned by the developer to undertake a programme of archaeological evaluation. Three trial trenches measuring c.1.5 x 25m each were opened across the proposed development area. A series of boundary and enclosure ditches of late pre-Roman Iron age - Early Romano-British date were revealed. A medieval boundary ditch and associated gully were also observed. Several late 18th - 19th century features were observed including a ditch, two pits, and at least two large ponds.
