Abstract: |
A watching brief was kept during the removal of topsoil from an area measuring 40m by 15m, in advance of the construction of a new farm shed at West Herdhill Farm, to the W of Kirriemuir. The watching brief was applied because of the presence of a Flavian period, double-ditched Roman road which, on the evidence of aerial photographs, ran approximately N/S a short distance to the W of the farm. Other than field drains of relatively recent origin, no features or deposits of archaeological significance were uncovered. |
