Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken for Mr and Mrs Van Herrewage on the 20th and 21st of August 2007 in advance of a menage. Earlier evaluation work had revealed evidence of later medieval activity in the form of gullies and pits. The watching brief revealed a number of archaeological features seen as a gully and pits or postholes. Pottery finds indicate occupation from the 12th to the 16th century whilst unstratified finds give evidence of prehistoric and Roman activity within the area. |
