Abstract: |
The principal archaeological remains which were recorded comprised a road associated with the Roman military fortress and elements of the primary and secondary Roman civil town defences including an exposure of the foundations of the Roman city wall towards the front of the site nearest to Lower North Street where the fabric has been left in-situ to an unknown depth The findings appear to be largely consistent with the results of the observations made at the site during 1978 and with the excavations carried out in Paul Street between 1982 and 1985. |
