Abstract: |
Two pits and a ditch that all appear to be late Roman were recorded. It is possible that the ditch was part of the town defences, as it is very close to the line defining the edge of the Scheduled area, but very little of it was exposed. The latest pottery is potentially 5th century, suggesting post-Roman occupation on or near the site (just outside the walls). |
