Abstract: |
Excavations for a new housing development in the centre of the village of Wrington in North Somerset exposed the remains of a c.17th century single roomed building. The building had been built on waterlogged land, its foundations cutting through layers of probable 'pond fill' containing pottery of 13th to 14th-century date. There was some evidence to suggest that the building had been used as a smithy in the 19th century. |
