Abstract:
Historic building assessment (description, scale drawings and photographs) of the Grade II Listed Old Manor House at Wormley was carried out in advance of a planning application. The house appears to be of 16th century date with late 16th and 17th century additions as well as more recent changes. However, it is possible that the core of the house is older, with at least one significant feature, a wall-painting in the attic, appearing to be of medieval date. The grounds of the property extend west from the High Road to the New River, and contain a timber granary and a brick stable/coach house. Also of potential interest is a level platform 15 m west of the house.
