Abstract: |
Archaeological evaluation by trial trenching conducted in February 2006 uncovered a group of features of medieval/post-medieval date cut into windblown sand deposits. Finds included an assemblage of medieval/post medieval pottery sherds, a small number of animal bone fragments and a possible whetsone fragment. Beneath c. 0.3 m of windblown sand was an earlier, curvilinear feature, possibly a small circular enclosure associated with later prehistoric transhumance practices. |
