Abstract: |
Between November 2004 and June 2005 Archaeological Services and Consultancy undertook a programme of monitoring and recording on the re-development of 347 Chartridge Lane, Chesham, Buckinghamshire. A former private residence was demolished and subdivided into two detached building plots. Each was terraced back into the slope of the natural terrain. This revealed a shallow clay subsoil followed by the natural upper chalk of the Chilterns. Apart from the remains of the footings of the former dwelling, no pre-modern features or artefacts were noted during the course of the ground reduction phase of the development. |
