Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was carried out by CFA Archaeology Ltd (CFA) between September 2009 and April 2010 during topsoil-stripping operations for a wind farm at Tullo Farm, near Laurencekirk, Aberdeenshire. The wind farm development comprises 7 wind turbines together with site compound and other associated infrastructure features. During the course of the watching brief, a small concentration of five pits was identified within the location of Turbine 7. In response to this find, mitigation excavations took place. A combination of radiocarbon dates and the typology of the pottery recovered provide evidence that they are Neolithic in date. |
