Abstract:		 Monitoring and recording of groundworks associated with the construction of a bird hide within the RSPB nature reserve at Rainham Marshes, Purfleet, Essex. Groundworks were of insufficient depth to establish the presence of Purfleet buried Neolithic Forest remains. However, details of the construction and layout of parts of a 20th century rifle range which formerly occupied the marsh were recorded.
