Abstract: |
A watching brief was undertaken during the course of development works at the former 19th century Knowl House and gardens. Observations made during the course of the groundworks at various locations within the development footprint suggest a lack of any clearly recognisable archaeological features or deposits earlier than those considered to be associated with Knowle House and its gardens. Ornamental garden paths which were exposed appear to match those depicted on the 1st edition OS map of 1889/90. |
