Abstract: |
Headland Archaeology was commissioned by Tracey Goodwin to undertake a program of archaeological works at Church Farm, Rotherwas, Hereford as a condition of Planning approval Ref. DMCE/092578/F. The building is Grade II listed and was originally an 18th century stable block associated with Rotherwas Manor House. The work comprised an archaeological watching brief and a Level 2-3 (English Heritage 2006) historic building survey. Apart from footings of the original building the archaeological watching brief did not reveal any other evidence of archaeology around the building. The historic building survey revealed modifications consisting mainly of inserted or removed partition walls, blocked windows and doorways and some inserted new doors and windows. This report forms a record of the building prior to any alterations in line with the requirements of Herefordshire County Archaeological Service. |
