Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief was carried out during the groundbreaking works required for the creation of a car park at 2 Hamilton Gardens, Stewarton. The archaeological works were designed to mitigate the impact on the archaeological remains within the development area. Approximately 90% of the development area was reduced by at least 400mm to natural drift geology and the remainder was reduced by 300mm through made ground. No significant archaeological material was observed during the course of the archaeological works and the only anthropic material observed was that relating to 20th century use of the site.
