Abstract: |
NO 32001 29759 and NO 32088 29762 Watching briefs were kept on 19th April 2010 during the machine-excavation of trenches for two replacement poles on an overhead power line, some 700m SE of Longforgan. The poles were located near cropmark sites (NO32NW 13 and NO32NW 18) which included a round house, a ring ditch and an enclosed settlement. One trench (at NO 32001 29759) cut through a backfilled feature that extended more than 1.25m below the topsoil and which clearly predated the original pole although its actual date remains unknown. Nothing of interest was uncovered in the other trench. |
