Abstract: |
A programme of archaeological evaluation of the site of a former school was followed by the detailed excavation and recording of three open areas. Encountered features included post-holes, pits, ditches and gullies. Artefacts ranging in date from the Neolithic to the medieval period were recovered, although all of the positively identified features were either Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age, or medieval in date. A small assemblage of rare Mid to Late Anglo-Saxon pottery was recovered from an earlier feature |
