Abstract:		 Archaeology South-East (ASE), the contracting division of The Centre for Applied Archaeology at the Institute of Archaeology, University College London, was commissioned by Crest Nicholson South Limited to undertake an evaluation land adjacent to St Francis Hospital, Colwell Road, Haywards Heath, West Sussex. The excavation comprised three parallel transects of ten 1m2 test pits and twenty-eight 30m trenches. Significant deposits of C19th C20 waste material were recorded together with several modern cuts.
