Abstract:
A Historic Building Analysis (Level 3) was undertaken as a result of a proposal to convert the former hosiery building into a mixture of offices, workspaces, commercial and recreational spaces. The Grade II listed building stands on a major route into Hinckley and forms a key part of the town's social history. The building has undergone three main phases of development starting in the 1870s up to 1910 with subsequent minor alterations up to the present day. A small number of internal features survive that give an indication of the use of space within the building
