Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief took place at 97 High Street, Colchester during the machine excavation of a series of test pits by the developer. The remains of the south precinct wall of the Roman Temple of Claudius were uncovered close to the modern ground level in the southern part of the site. Little of archaeological significance was reached in the northern part of the site where the ground level had been considerably made-up in modern times.
