Abstract:		 In February 2011 Archaeological Solutions Ltd carried out archaeological monitoring at 17 Hervey Road, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk (NGR TL 841 633). The monitoring was required during groundworks associated with the construction of an extension to the existing building (Council Planning Ref. SE/10/1331). The site lies within an area of archaeological potential on the western side of Hervey Road, Bury St Edmunds, defined on the County Historic Environment Record. This refers to the presence of an early Anglo-Saxon cemetery (HER BSE 030), excavated in the area of Westgarth Gardens above the terrace of the river Linnet. The extent of the cemetery has not been established. In the event the monitoring revealed no archaeological features or finds.
