Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology in January 2011 on Land at Ottery Road, Feniton, Devon. A total of four trenches was excavated. A number of ditches corresponding to a north-west/south-east orientated field system were identified. It is considered probable that elements of the field system pre-date the medieval period, although it is also possible that some of the identified features may be considerably older. An undated ditch and gully as well as a pit containing a 19th-century horseshoe and the articulated skeleton of a horse were also identified. |
