Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief took place between January and March 2008 during a Thames Water Utilities pipeline installation between Church Road and Berry's Green Road. No archaeological finds or features were observed. Fairly shallow soil horizons were removed revealing a natural brown-yellow clay with large flint nodules. In the fields adjacent to Brickyard Farm (recorded in the 19th century as a brickfield) ceramic building material fragments were also visible in the soil. Metal detecting recovered a small assemblage of mainly 19th-20th century material. |
