Abstract: |
Tree-ring analysis of 11 samples from the three surviving trusses and floor-frame within 2-4 Church Street, Leek, shows that all the dated timbers were cut as part of a single programme of felling which took place between 1513 at the earliest and 1515 at the latest. From the material analysed a single site chronology was created, LEKCSQ01, this comprising nine of the 11 samples obtained, and having an overall length of 107 rings. These rings were dated as spanning the years 1406-1512. |
