Abstract: |
No archaeological deposits were encountered during the investigation. In the western part of the site, low survival of archaeological deposits was caused by modern truncation to depths of 3.50m below the present ground surface, resulting in the removal of all deposits down to natural sands and gravels. In the south-west area of the site, all archaeological deposits had been removed by service trenches and foundations. In some areas of the site, modern truncation had been less severe and natural brickearth deposits survived. Thus there is a small potential for the survival of deep cut features, although none were found during evaluation. |
