Abstract: |
The watching brief found evidence of the natural brickearth at a depth of 1.00m below ground level, at a level of 10.45mOD. Above this was a layer of disturbed brickearth, which was sealed by the former topsoil and a layer of modern debris. A pit containing modern debris, including 20th century glass, metal and bricks, was revealed towards the south of the site, and the concrete foundation of a former brick lean-to structure was seen nearby. No archaeological finds, features or deposits predating the modern period were observed on site. |
