Abstract:		 An archaeological evaluation was undertaken by South West Archaeology Ltd. prior to the erection of extension to agricultural building to house machinery at Hilroy, Rackenford. The proposed development lies in an area of archaeological potential and to the east of a row of prehistoric funerary monuments, to the south of an isolated funerary monument and in an area where prehistoric artefacts have been found. Eleven small evaluation trenches (measuring 0.6mx1m) were opened in the positions of the proposed locations for the building footings. No finds or features were uncovered within the excavated areas.
