Abstract: |
During October 2009 a project team from Albion Archaeology carried out a Level 3 (English Heritage 2006) historic building survey at the Segregation Unit, Block D, Aylesbury Young Offenders Institution.The present Segregation Unit, Block D is due for demolition and replacement with a new purpose-built wing. The archaeological works required by planning condition comprise a building record of Block D and observation and recording of any groundworks associated with the construction of the new unit. An archaeological Watching Brief undertaken during the demolition groundworks and any groundworks associated with the construction of the new building revealed no archaeological remains. |
