Abstract: |
A geophysical (magnetometer) survey covering the area of the proposed southern extension to Jackdaw Crag Quarry south of Tadcaster has identified a number of potential archaeological anomalies. These anomalies are interpreted as being indicative of a trackway with associated field system and enclosures. A round-house has tentatively been identified within one of the enclosures. Other discrete anomalies may be due to archaeological activity. On the basis of the survey the site is considered to have moderate to high archaeological potential. |
