Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was carried out at Dark Lane in Morpeth during groundworks for gas mains improvements. A stone lined culvert with a ceramic pipe running throught part of its length was discovered in the eastern end of the trench. The culvert is thought to date to the 19th century with the pipe being a later repair or diversion. |
