Abstract:
A watching brief conducted during the excavation of foundation trenches for an extension to Ash Lea house, located immediately south-west of Mayburgh Henge outside the Scheduled area, identified no archaeological features. Finds recovered from the topsoil included 4 chert bladelets of possible Mesolithic date, and fragments of 19th-20th century clay pipe stems and ceramics.
