Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken for Mr Thompson on the 29th and 30th of January 2008. The evaluation, in the form of two trenches, is in advance of a residential development. The site, covering approx 0.092ha, lies within the medieval core of Stonesby and is adjacent to the 18th century Manor House and associated earthworks. An alignment of three postholes, a large ditch, possibly relating to the earlier Manor House, and evidence of a probable landscaping exercise were recorded within the trenches. |
