Abstract:		 AOC Archaeology Group was commissioned to undertake a Level 2 building survey at Rudchester Manor within Heddon-on-the-Wall parish. The manor house incorporates a 13th century pele tower, although much of the building dates from the 18th century. The recording concentrated on a Post-Medieval extension to the manor house which was to be demolished (a general survey of the whole house was undertaken, however). The extension can be divided into two sections, one dating from the late 19th century, the other from the early 20th century. The 19th century element appear to have been a larder or scullery; the 20th century element was most likely used as storage space.The recording included a drawn record, primarily comprising measured plans, and photographic and written records.
