Abstract: |
John Moore Heritage Services carried out a watching brief on land at 26 Barton Village Road, Barton, Oxford. A possible post-medieval demolition/makeup layer was found to overlie the construction cut of probable stone wall footings from an earlier building. The construction cut backfill contained late medieval and postmedieval pottery, animal bone and glass. These footings will be buried underneath the concrete slab of the new development. No significant archaeological remains were identified anywhere else on the site. |
