Abstract:		 An excavation at Eardisley Castle, Herefordshire was undertaken in March 2011 by the Eardisley History Group and Herefordshire Archaeology with financial support from the Heritage Lottey Fund. Excavation took place within the perimeter of the inner bailey, towards the south-east corner. The aims were to establish basic information about the castle (such as the characteristics of its defences, its general architectural character, the density of its buildings, and its history) and to inform plans for its conservation and long-term management.
