Abstract: |
Phase 1 of a programme of archaeological monitoring of topsoil stripping of an extention to the north side of Cowieslinn Quarry found no significant arcaheological features or artefacts. An area 260 m x 28 m was stripped of topsoil to the natural underlying depostis using a 360 tracked excavator with a flat bladed ditching bucket. The only features of note were a series of shallow agricultural furrows and a few small 19th century quarry pits.. |
