Abstract:
In January 2013 Archaeological Solutions (AS) carried an archaeological evaluation at Parsons Green Club, Broomhouse Lane, Fulham, London (NGR TQ 2522 7585). The evaluation was commissioned by Fusion Residential and was undertaken in compliance with a condition attached to planning consent. The site is situated in the southern part of Fulham, London. It had a potential for post-medieval remains. It also had a potential for earlier remains, in particular dating to Romano-British period. In the event the features and finds revealed during the evaluation relate to the early modern and modern development of the site. Finds from Layer L1014 (Tr.5, 18th - 19th century pottery, CBM, clay pipe stem fragments and animal bone) may relate to the former occupation of the street frontage. Ditch F1009 (Tr.4) also contained late 18th - 19th century finds. The other features were modern (Wall M1006 and Linear F1011 (Tr.4), Pit F1017 (Tr.6) and Pit F1019 (Tr.7).
