Abstract:		 In March 2013 Archaeological Solutions Ltd (AS) carried out an archaeological evaluation off land Church Street, Hundon, Suffolk (NGR TL 733 489). The evaluation was commissioned by Oxbury and Company and was undertaken in advance of the proposed construction of a residential development. The evaluation is required to comply with a planning requirement (St Edmundsbury Borough Council) which requires a programme of archaeological work, based on advice from SCC AS-CT. The site lies within an area of archaeological potential highlighted on the Suffolk Historic Environment Record (HER), within a topographic location on a valley side above a watercourse, favourable for early occupation, at a crossroads between features related to medieval settlement. These are a windmill (Historic Environment Record HUD 006) and a medieval green with cropmarks of toft plots (HUD 008). Galley Lane may also be of some antiquity. In the event the evaluation revealed no archaeological features or finds.
