Abstract: |
The site lies within the early Roman fort and just north of the later Roman walled town and is withion the scheduled area. A lead coffin was previously found during quarrying in the south of the site. Archaeological monitoring was carried out on groundworks for extensions to the existing house. No significant below-ground remanis were identified, though a quantity of unstratified Roman pottery was retrieved from topsoil. |
