The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 Trial trenching in advance of a proposal to use the south-western part of Rivenhall Airfield for mineral extraction revealed three separate areas of archaeological remains dating to the Neolithic, Middle Iron Age, Late Iron Age, Roman and medieval periods. A concentration of features in the north-west (Area A) represents the southern limit of the Middle Iron Age settlement previously recorded tio the north, and medieval activity at the eastern edge of Sheepcotes Farm. The Roman remains in the south (Area B) indicate the site of a 1st century to late 3rd/early 4th-century farmstead. A single pit in the south-west (Area C) contained a small assembklage of Neolithic worked flint.
