Abstract:		 In November 2010 Archaeological Solutions (AS) carried out archaeological monitoring and excavation at Wicken House, Wicken Bonhunt, Essex (NGR TL 4997 3347). The monitoring was commissioned by City and Country Group in compliance with a planning condition attached to planning permission for the construction of a residential dwelling and garage. The site is situated within the village of Wicken Bonhunt, c. 2km west of Newport and 6km south-west of Saffron Walden, Essex. It is located within an area thought to be the site of a deserted/shrunken medieval village, possibly dating from 11th century. In the event the monitoring revealed no archaeological features or finds.
