Abstract: |
Archaeological monitoring works were undertaken in respect to the development of a new wind farm at Neilston, East Renfrewshire. The archaeological works were designed to mitigate the impact on the archaeological remains within their development area. The monitoring failed to identify any significant archaeological features during the excavation of soft sediment works. The area has been heavily disturbed by activities relating to use of the area as Drumgrain Landfill Site during the mid to late 20th century. In addition, the shallow nature of the exposed geology indicates that the footprint of the new wind farm covers mostly archaeologically sterile land. |
