Abstract:
An archaeological watching brief was carried out by Witham Archaeology, during the construction of a new house on land to the south of existing buildings at Moat Farm. The site lies in close proximity to earthworks of a moated site and other shrunken village remains. A small quantity of late 17th/18th century pottery was recovered from an extensive hollow on the eastern side of the plot. There was no evidence of medieval village remains.
