Abstract: |
An evaluation of this site was conducted by John Moore Heritage Services from the 25th - 28th October 2005. Two trenches, totalling 7 metres in length, and two small test pits at the base of the existing war memorial were excavated. Trench 5 located the north wall of the later church of St Peter le Bailey and its associated cemetery. Trench 6 revealed the infilled interior of the church and a brick built crypt. Test Pits 7 and 8 were excavated to establish the depth and construction of the foundations of the war memorial. |
