Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was carried out between 2011 and 2012 during the construction of a new extension to St Barnabas' church. Evidence of 17 grave plots was uncovered, including six brick burial vaults of probable 19th-century date. All the uncovered burials were left in-situ. Many broken grave stones were also seen on the north-west side of the church, indicating a phase of deliberate clearance. |
