Abstract: |
Acting on behalf of the Norman Partnership, ADAS UK Ltd commissioned Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd to conduct a programme of archaeological works on land at Leen Farm, Pembridge (NGR: SO 38485 59440) comprising the excavation of a series of nine evaluation trenches. The specification for the archaeological evaluation was agreed with the Local Planning Authority's Archaeological Advisor, Mr Julian Cotton, prior to the submission to the Local Planning Authority for permission to develop the site. The nature of the works conducted will enable the Local Authority, Herefordshire Council to make an informed decision on the application. A series of archaeological features containing Romano-British pottery were located within the area designated for development. The evaluation work has indicated that a series of previously unknown heritage assets are located within the area designated for future development. |
