Abstract: |
Archaeological excavation revealed activity associated with a long-lived settlement spanning the Iron Age/early Roman period to the 4th century AD, with a possible break in occupation between the mid 2nd and mid 3rd centuries. Features, such as a possible enclosure, pits and areas of burning, attest to the presence of a Roman settlement. The low density of the features and the finds assemblage suggest a non-intensive, low-status, rural settlement. |
